Kate and Lou get together to talk about degendering dance... and stuff! This whole thing started in Lou’s Subaru after dance class, where we’d sit and talk for hours about gender, movement, queerness, dismantling the patriarchy, and all the weird stuff in between. So we figured, why not hit record? Tune in to hear us unpack dance culture, challenge outdated norms, and maybe go on a few tangents along the way.
New episodes drop every 2nd and 4th Tuesday on Spotify, Apple, Amazon, and Pocket Casts.

is a gender queer, disabled, trauma survivor and activist who uses partner dance to heal and connect. They bring their skills as a professional media specialist promoting the dance community through photography, design, and video. During their first Lindy Hop Camp weekend they felt gender dysphoria participating only in the roll of a follow, brining them to decided to pursue leading as their primary role. Continuing to work on their following skills they became an ambi-switch dancer, allowing them to embrace versatility in every dance form they encounter. Lou believes dance is an incredible modality for change and works to fight systemic harm in our dance communities knowing it will also change the world.

is an agender dancer, teacher, and trauma-informed educator. Through personal work and a focus on switch dancing, Kate found solace and transformation in dance with the support of queer community during their coming out in 2021. With a decade of teaching experience, they view dance as a spiritual practice of self-liberation and expression. Kate teaches for Queerchata, where they create inclusive spaces for queer and trans dancers to move, connect, and thrive. They believe dance transcends boundaries of gender, sexual orientation, ability, age, shape, or size and serves as a pathway to authenticity, healing, and social change. For Kate, partner dance is a universal language that offers growth, community, and the power to dismantle patriarchal norms and YT supremacy with every step.
